Balneology
In Shipkovo resort there are three mineral springs and several drillings. The mineral water is from the sulfate-calcium-magnesium group, with a varying temperature from 27 °C to 39 °C. Treatment with mineral water is carried out by drinking and balneotherapy. The chemical composition makes it suitable for the treatment of several groups of diseases: gastro-intestinal diseases, gall-bladder-liver disorders, metabolic-endocrine diseases, neurological diseases and disease of locomotory system.

Properties
Water helps to slightly reduce the hyperacidity of the gastric juice and stimulates the kinetics of the bile ducts and the intestinal tract. The presence of calcium ions potentiates diuresis. The fluorine content allows the mineral water to be used for caries prevention.
